A diverse species, sorghums are planted for food, feed, forage and syrup — and now bioenergy. While there are well-established crop management practices for grain and forage types of sorghum, new end-uses and cultivars will require refinements, or in some cases, new practices altogether.
We are working with technology developers in bioenergy as well as university researchers to determine agronomic practices that increase field yields and optimize biomass composition for different conversion technologies and uses. Rapid progress is being made so check back often.
